Sussex were just about to lose their crown as the most successful team in the early history of English one-day cricket. Under Ted Dexter, Sussex had charged out of the gates from the inception of the Gillette Cup in the early Sixties, seeing it as a highly viable competition long before others reached the same conclusion.

  The book is full of obscure cricketing facts, some poigniont vignettes and conversations with some wonderful characters met around the various county grounds. Oh and it transpires he is a Sussex supporter, his family having lived in Brighton.
